ESIS Partners With Honeywell Hardware Products Group On System Enhancement Project

Combined Efforts Win Division’s Quest for Excellence Award

San Diego-August 11, 2004 - ESIS recently partnered with Honeywell’s Hardware Products Group in Phoenix to complete an award-winning system enhancement project for their purchasing department. The project was designed to enable HPG to create supplier partnerships along commodities for non-core HPG product and thus expand their market for these products. ESIS was part of a team that included HPG’s EDI group, members of their IT department, and select HPG suppliers.

The system enhancement project was so successful that it won HPG’s 2004 Quest for Excellence award, an annual competition for Honeywell teams. The Quest for Excellence event showcases Six Sigma improvement and growth projects throughout Honeywell.

ESIS delivered five EDI documents, enabled for both web interface and VAN, over a four-month period. The documents included various custom enhancements and logic tailoring as per the requirements by HPG and the suppliers. The project was a very close collaboration effort requiring daily interaction between HPG and the ESIS development team. Time and budgets were also a critical component to the success of the project. ESIS met all HPG’s budget and time requirements, often exceeding their expectations. The result is a fully customized solution that will enable HPG suppliers to participate in a fully automated procurement system without the cost and technological barriers usually associated with a project of this scope.

According to Wendy Kemp, IT Project Manager at HPG, ESIS was key to the project’s success. ESIS was very accommodating in meeting our aggressive schedule, she said. It was a pleasure to work with them. ESIS staff that worked on the HPG project included Victor Cacho, Software Engineer, Darrel Klassen, Project Manager and Andreas Ericzén, Manager of ESIS’ Consulting and Developing Department.

"ESIS is committed to the ongoing development of solutions that provide the greatest benefit and ROI for our customers. We follow established market standards while adding value to the suppliers through innovative and efficient interface solutions, said Andreas Ericzén, Manager of Consulting and Development. The success at HPG confirms how ESIS collaborates with our customers and their suppliers using a win-win approach from which quick and enduring savings and productivity gains throughout the entire supply chain are realized.

ESIS has partnered with Honeywell since 1996 when the former AlliedSignal chose ESIS to streamline its purchasing processes. Today 17 Honeywell Aerospace sites use ESIS to communicate with over 2,000 suppliers, bringing new efficiencies to processes from bidding and procurement to shipping and receiving.
